For his solo exhibition Scentopia, Peter de Cupere created the eau de parfum Scentopium. The inspiration for Scentopium came from the seaside smell of Knokke-Heist (BE), combined with the scent of the famous Knokke-Heist Babelutte. The creamy, sweet Babelutte aroma is gently present as an undertone throughout the perfume. The scent was analytically refined to enhance the experience of savoring Babeluttes, evoking a beautiful memory of them.
Initially, one senses the sea with a hint of sweetness in the background, which gradually transitions into a warm, alluring fragrance thanks to the notes of ambergris and musk. This comforting scent invites you into a serene world, offering a momentary escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life.
The fragrances are also incorporated into the large Scentopium plantsculpture, which shares its name with the perfume. Youc an see here a photo of this immensive olfactory art work.
